Migration of James Patmon COONER and Martha LOLLAR
1. James Patmon COONER, a descendant of Jacob and Regina Kuhner of Orangeburgh District, was born about 10 Apr 1787 in Abbeville District, South Carolina and died in 1855 in Walker County, Alabama. He married Martha LOLLAR in South Carolina. Martha was born in 1794 in South Carolina, and died in 1858 in Jefferson County, Alabama. James and Martha migrated to Walker County, Alabamai before 1830.
COONER, JAMES P. came to Walker County from the Abbeville District, of South Carolina, in the early 1830’s, and entered government land in Section 34, Township 14, Range 8, near Jasper, on September 23, 1833. He lived on a farm near Jasper all of his life and is buried in Walker Memory Gardens near Jasper. He was the father of James Carroll Cooner; Samuel Ellison Cooner; and Polly Cooner, who married, first, a Mr. Harrison Sides, and, second, a Mr. Townley. - Walter County Tract Record. a. Sara Martha COONER, born 05 JAN 1812 in Abbeville District, South Carolina, died in 1885 in Shelby, Texas.
b. John W. COONER, born 15 APR 1816 in Abbeville District, South Carolina, died in 1904 in Calhoun City, Mississippi.
c. Samuel Ellison COONER, born 2 OCT 1819 in Abbeville District, South Carolina, died 27 AUG 1884 in Walker County, Alabama. He married Lucinda DILL about 1840.
d. Elizabeth Abery COONER, born 23 NOV 1824 in Abbeville District, South Carolina, USA, died about 1875 in Walker Co, Alabama. She married William Harrison Sides.
e. Martha Ann COONER, born 4 or 5 NOV 1827 in Abbeville District, South Carolina, died 1875 in Walker County, Alabama.
e. Mary Ann "Polly" COONER, born 05 MAY 1831 in Walker county, Alabama, died in 1875 in Walker County, Alabama. She married George Franklin Sides.
e. James Carroll COONER, born 25 DEC 1835 in Walker County, Alabama, died 11 SEP 1914 in Walker County, Alabama. He married Mahala Martha Parthenia Lawson.
