Migration of Isaac CARTER and Ann Elizabeth YOUNG
1. Isaac CARTER He married abt 1780 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina Ann Elizabeth YOUNG, born in Orangeburg District, South Carolina, daughter of Henry YOUNG (SR) and Ann HILL.
Notes for Isaac CARTER: Isaac and Nancy (Young) Carter moved (with most of their children) west to MS and LA in the spring of 1810. The 1800 Orangeburg census shows them living in the area bound by the Fork of the Edisto, Beaver Creek and Four Holes. They are also on the 1790 census. Thomas Young who lived near them is thought to be Nancy's brother (also on the 1790 census).
Children of Isaac CARTER and Ann Elizabeth YOUNG were as follows:
a. William CARTER, born abt 1781 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 1840 in Pike County, Mississippi. He married (1) in Oct 1812 Hannah COLE; (2) on 5 Oct 1820 Susannah WILLIAMS .
b. Hardy CARTER, born abt 1784 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died in Union Parish, Louisiania. State Rep. from Pike County AL in 1827, moved to Union Parish LA before 1840.
c. Allen CARTER, born abt 1786 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina. He married (1) in South Carolina Elizabeth ADDISON, daughter of William ADDISON; (2) Martha RABORN, daughter of Joseph RABORN and [---] MCCLENDON.
d. Mary CARTER, born 18 Mar 1792 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 3 Jun 1861 in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana. She married in 1808 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina John Britton ADDISON, born 8 May 1781; died 10 Dec 1829 in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana.
e. Burrell CARTER, born 2 Jun 1796 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 18 Aug 1860 in Louisiana. He married on 29 Oct 1818 Judith TAYLOR, born 3 Nov 1796; died 2 May 1883, daughter of Nimrod TAYLOR and Judith BANKSTON. Lived on Darlington's Plantation, Chipola, LA and he was buried on Darling's Creek.
f. Derrell CARTER, born 20 Jan 1799 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 1876 in Cotton Valley, Webster Parish, Louisiana. He married on 30 Jul 1818 Sarepta B. TAYLOR, born 1799 in Georgia; died 1876 in Louisiana, daughter of Nimrod TAYLOR and Judith BANKSTON.
g. Harville CARTER, born 1805 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 2 Nov 1865 in St. Cloud, Louisiana. He married Carolyn Virginia WHITE, born 19 Sep 1812; died 1 Aug 1897 in Jackson Parish, Lousiana, daughter of Robert WHITE and Judith TAYLOR.
h. Israel CARTER, born 15 Dec 1807 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 11 Jul 1878 in Sunny Hill, Louisiana. He married (1) Maria FELDER, born 1806 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; (2) Elizabeth TURNER, born 5 May 1834; died 4 May 1916, daughter of Phillip TURNER and Mary ROBERTS.
i. Elizabeth CARTER, born 1809 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died Nov 1864 in Louisiana. She married John HOUSTON.
