In the Bible of Robert L Pou- (which lists many dates (birth, death and marriages- and brief history of the Pou's- ) You find this notation: "William Pou, Jr and Rutha Shilling was married Oct 6th, A.D. 1799" Under Births you find" William Pou Jr was born Sept 4th A.D. in 1777 in Orangeburg, SC Rutha Shilling was born June 7th A.D. 1779 in Orangeburg, SC" under death's - " William Pou, Jr. departed this life Nov. 17th A.D. 1813 in Orangeburgh Dist, SC age 36, 1 mo. 16 da. Rutha Pou Gleaton departed this life July 23, A.D 1866, in Panola Co., MS age 87 yrs, 1 mo., 16 da. " Panola, CO, MS/ 1850 Fed Cen John E. Gleaton 56 M Farmer $500 SC Rutha 71 F SC Sarah 29 F SC.
